Eco-Dyeing Workshop: Earth Expresses Herself Through You - Eco & Indigo Fiber Art Artists
An Eco-Dyeing and Printing Workshop on silk scarves and paper.
Join us for an exciting experiment in collaboration with nature!
Discover how flowers, leaves, seeds, silk, and you can come together to create beautiful scarves.
In this workshop you will learn to print directly on silk with flowers and leaves.
This is an all natural process; no chemical dyes or toxic materials are used.
Give yourself a day of playing, experimenting, and creating beauty!
We will imbue our scarves with our intentions and prayers.
ALL MATERIALS WILL BE PROVIDED and if you have favorite leaves or flowers that you would like to use, please bring those (fresh or dried).
You will make and take home an exquisite 8"x72" silk scarf of your creation (which would retail for at least $85, in this market; certainly more in Chicago or LA!); yours to keep or give as a gift.
PLEASE NOTE: The December class will be $125 because you will be working with pre-dyed scarves in logwood (purple), cochineal (hot pink), and madder (peach). And, at this workshop, you will learn both eco-printing and discharging techniques.
AND, IF you attended our summer workshop or the October workshop, the December workshop will NOT be the same and you may enjoy learning more about this process in December! AND, you will be making your own scarves at each workshop.
There will be a break for lunch. And, we will be meeting at INTERMEZZO STUDIOS at 409 7th Street.
