Exploring Body, Voice, Family, and Place in Your Journal:
A Series of Four Journaling Workshops with Journal Teacher and Writer, Carla Pineda
Meeting on Four Wednesdays in May, 2019 from 10:30-noon.
The use of poetry, narrative, and discussion as journaling "windows" into the Wild Woman Archetype.
The Wild Woman Archetype is the 'innate instinctual Self'.
The words wild and woman, when heard by women, stir an old, old memory back to life.
-Clarissa Pinkola Estes, from her book, Women Who Run With the Wolves.
May 1: Body: What is it to be "embodied"? To be in our body, not just have a body?
May 15: Voice: What is the "wild voice"? What does she sound like? How do you know when you are speaking her language?
May 22: Family: "You are the continuation of each of these people"
How do your ancestors (known or not known) shape you?
Carla will draw from the writings of Thich Nhat Hahn.
May 29: Place: How are we tied to place? What does place shape in us?
"We can't separate who we are from where we are."
Carla will draw from the writings of Sam Keen and Anne Valley-Fox
